Breastfeeding Care

Many women today are choosing to breastfeed. Breastfeeding is good for you and your newborn. Breast milk contains critical nutrients and immune factors that help your baby grow and develop properly. However, while breastfeeding is a natural process, it does not always come naturally to all women. Oxytocin nasal spray
Milk let-down is critical to a successful nursing relationship, but many women struggle to let down properly due to a lack of oxytocin. We can compound a special oxytocin nasal spray that stimulates the letdown reflex and helps your baby get the nutrients he or she needs.
Nipple ointment
A proper latch should not be painful, but many women do still struggle with nipple soreness, particularly in the early days of pregnancy. We can compound a safe and effective all-purpose nipple ointment that soothes sore nipples without risking the baby’s health. We also offer treatment options for thrust, a type of yeast infection that occurs in lactating women and their babies. Thrush can be extremely painful, and both baby and mother should be treated for the best results.

Stretch Marks

Stretch marks are a common complaint during pregnancy. Women most often develop stretch marks on and around their abdomens, but they can also develop them on their thighs, hips and breasts. While stretch marks are not dangerous for you or your baby, they are often considered a cosmetic issue and can affect your self-confidence. We offer special ointments and creams that can be compounded to treat your stretch marks and ease the skin discomfort that is so common during pregnancy.

One study revealed that daily applications of tretinoin, or retinoic acid, could significantly improve the appearance of stretch marks. A combination of glycolic acid and tretinoin may also be effective in reducing the appearance and size of stretch marks. Not all products are appropriate for all women. Vaginal Soreness and Hemorrhoids

Cooled witch hazel pads, padded donuts and rinses with warm water can help take the sting out of episiotomies, swelling and hemorrhoids. Our pharmacy can provide you with post-partum treatments that can increase comfort in your most intimate areas so that you can concentrate on healing.

Diaper Rash

Two out of every three infants experience diaper rash at some point. Diaper rash can be triggered by a number of factors, including wet or dirty diapers, scented products and sensitive skin. While the incidence of diaper rash can be reduced by good diapering practices, it cannot always be eliminated, which is why we offer customized diaper rash products that can treat your baby’s discomfort and protect his or her skin.

We can compound ointments, creams, lotions and powders with zinc oxide, petrolatum, antifungal medications or topical steroids to treat your baby’s symptoms. Applying these preparations as instructed can help your baby’s skin heal and reduce the risk of re-occurrence.

Pediatric Dosage Forms

Babies and children have special medication needs that may not be available commercially. We offer a compounding service that can provide you with the exact strength or dosage form that your child needs without the need to cut, break or crush tablets or administer bad-tasting medicine that is not meant for children. Our skilled pharmacists can compound child-friendly dosage forms, including lozenges, lollipops, gummy candies, suspensions and freezer pops with children’s favorite flavors and colors.
